Introducing Baby Food

When is My Baby Ready for Solid Foods??

When to feed baby food is a common question for parents, here are some guidelines to help you determine if the time is right.
When your baby in nearing 6 months their bodies are ready to tolerate and digest foods other than breast milk or formula. By this time many babies are getting teeth and their digestive enzymes are at higher levels. They are also showing all (or most) the signs of being ready for solid foods.

• Loss of tongue-thrust reflex
• Able to sit and hold their head up independently
• Showing interest in food
• Doubling of birth weight
• Ability to let you know he is full. Example: turning away from the bottle or breast.

If your baby is ready...then pull out the bib,
it is time to get messy!!
