Homemade Baby Food Vegetable Purees

When you start you baby off eating fresh and wholesome baby food including organic vegetables, you will notice that your baby's tastes develop more for fresh vegetables and less for processed "foods".




Baby Food Doctor Fresh Butternut Squash Puree
Acceptable for 7 months+
Ingredients:
• 1 organic butternut squash
• Olive oil
• Water
Instructions:
• Preheat oven to 350
• Wash and cut the squash in half and clear the seeds – residue from the outside of the squash can be transferred by the knife through the squash when not washed.
• Drizzle each side lightly with olive oil
• Place cut-side down in a baking dish
• Bake until the squash is soft
• Scrape the meat of the squash and place in the food processor
• Puree to desired consistency, adding water to thin if necessary.
• Serve some immediately and freeze the remaining in ice cube trays (each cube is a perfect 1 oz serving)
• Optional seasonings(over 8 months) – cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger

Organic Baby Food Squash
Baby Food Doctor Mixed Summer Squash Puree
Acceptable for 8 months+

Ingredients:
• 2-3 Organic Zucchini
• 2-3 Organic Yellow summer squash
• Olive oil
Instructions:
• Wash and slice squash into disks
• Drizzle the disks with olive oil
• Add squash to a large pot and cook over medium heat, occasionally stirring until the disks are soft.
• Add to food processor
• Puree to desired consistency – these squash tend to contain a lot of water, so it is unlikely that you will need to add any more.
• Serve some immediately and freeze the remaining in ice cube trays (each cube is a perfect 1 oz serving)
• Optional seasonings (over 8months) – Italian seasoning mix (basil, oregano and parsley) or basil and garlic
