When it comes to homemade baby food recipes it does not need to be difficult. Just think about the spices and tastes that you enjoy, especially seasonal tastes, and try to pass these along to your baby. They will grow up having a desire for natural, whole, and fresh flavors.

Ingredients:
• 1 ripe banana
• 1/8 tsp cinnamon
• 1/8 tsp cloves
• 1 tsp flax oil
• Drizzle agave (please note: do not substitute the agave with honey until after 18 mo of age due to the risk of botulism in young babies)

Instructions:
• Place peeled banana in a bowl and smash with the back of a fork
• Add spices, flax oil and agave
• Mix well
• Place in microwave for 20 seconds
• Serve warm

No-Fuss Cranberry Applesauce
Makes approximately 5 cups of puree
Acceptable for 8+ months

Ingredients:
• 1 pound bag of fresh cranberries
• 4-5 sweet variety apples (red delicious, honey crisp etc.)
• ½ cup water

Instructions:
• Wash, core and cut apples into chunks
• Wash cranberries
• Place apples and cranberries into crock-pot with water
• Let cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or until the apples are soft
• Place soft apples and cranberries in food processor and puree until desired consistency – adding more water if needed.
• Serve and freeze extra in ice cube trays for easy 1 oz servings

No-Fuss Homemade Pear Sauce
Acceptable for 6 months+
The easiest way to avoid the added colors, preservatives and high fructose corn syrup which is found in most jarred fruit sauce is to make it yourself, and it only takes minutes of actual work.


Make a large batch and freeze the remaining for a later date.

Homemade Baby Food Pear Sauce
Ingredients:
• 2-3 pounds of organic Bartlett Pears

Instructions:
• Wash, core and cut pears into large chunks.
• Place all chunked pears in a crock pot and cook on low for about 1-2 hours or until they are tender.
• Place soft pears in the food processor and blend, adding water to desired consistency.
• Feed baby some and freeze the rest in ice cube trays (Transfer to large ziplocks once the cubes are frozen to help save space.)

Variations: (please note varying acceptable ages)
• Add cinnamon and a drizzle of flax oil to warm pears (9 months for most spices and oils)
• Mix 2 pear cubes with ¼ of a ripe avocado (6 months)
• Mix 2 pear cubes with ½ smashed banana (6 months)
• Add 1 Tbsp of Tahini to 2-3 cubes of pears (8 months)

Organic Fresh Fig Puree
Acceptable 10 months +

Servings: Makes approximately 1 cup of puree.

Ingredients:
• 1 pint of fresh organic figs

Instructions:
• Wash and cut off the stem of the fig, place in a food processor or blender.
• Puree.
• Serve for a yummy and fresh summer puree.

Fresh Watermelon and Pear Puree
Acceptable 10 months +

Servings: Makes approximately 2 cups of puree.

Ingredients:
• 1 cup of seedless watermelon
• 1 ripe pear

Instructions:
• Combined both ingredients in a food processor or blender.
• Puree.
• Serve for a yummy and fresh summer puree.

Fresh Cantaloupe and Mint Puree
Acceptable 8 months +

Servings: Makes approximately 1 ½ ice cube trays depending on size of melon.

Ingredients:
• 1 ripe cantaloupe
• 4-5 leaves of fresh mint

Instructions:
• Slice cantaloupe in half, remove the seeds and rind.
• Place the flesh of the melon and the mint leaves in food processor and puree.
• Serve and Freeze for later.

Acceptable for 7 months+

Ingredients:
*Organic Peaches (peaches are on the "dirty dozen" list )
*cinnamon


Instructions:
*Wash peaches using a fruit and veggie wash
*Slice peaches
*Cook in a saucepan on the stove top or bake in oven at 350 until peaches are softened.
*Place in food processor and puree
*Sprinkle cinnamon on individual portions, just before serving.
*Enjoy some now and freeze the remaining in ice cube trays for individual portions.

Acceptable for 6 months+

Ingredients:
•Ripe Avocado
•Ripe Banana

Instructions:
•Take equal parts of avocado and banana and smash with a fork until desired consistency.
•For younger babies who might require a more liquid mixture you can mix with either water or breast milk.
